Victony’s New Album ‘Stubborn’ Tops Nigeria’s Apple Music Album Chart

Nigerian rapper, singer and songwriter, Victony, has achieved a significant feat with his new album, Stubborn.

The album has swiftly climbed up the Nigeria Apple Music Album Chart to reach Number 1.

Victony’s path to this achievement began with his 2017 hip-hop mixtape, The Outlaw King. Over the years, he has consistently built a loyal fan base with EPs like Saturn (2020) and Outlaw (2022). Tracks such as Pray and his collaboration with Mayorkun on the Holy Father have made him a force to reckon with.

The album has guest features from Asake, Shallipopi, Saint Jhn, and other artists. The album explores Afrobeats, amapiano, R&B, funk, and Afro-Cuban jazz genres.

Speaking on his music, Victony said, “With Outlaw, I tried to let people know that [I am] different. Here, I’m continuing with that stubbornness, telling people we haven’t switched lanes.

“I’m still about being me regardless of who likes it or not. And just reflecting on everything that I have been through and where I’m coming from because it’s not necessarily a land of dreams.

“ It’s not easy to be from Lagos. You have to be hopeful because there’s not much to give you hope. Victony is resilient, and I feel like this album truly represents who I am now.”

Nigerian music lovers have embraced Stubborn wholeheartedly. Social media buzz, fan reviews, and streaming numbers are all contributing to its success.
